Jingdong Logistics has become the first logistics enterprise in China to use battery-swapped new energy vehicles on a large scale
On August 15, as the first logistics enterprise in the country to invest in battery-swap vehicles on a large scale, JD Logistics put the first batch of battery-swap new energy vehicles into actual operation. At present, JD Logistics has launched battery-swap vehicles across the country, and it is expected that by the end of 2022, 1,000 battery-swap light trucks will be launched.
According to the calculation of JD Logistics, through the overall power exchange solution for new energy vehicles, JD Logistics is expected to increase the energy storage power consumption ratio of its logistics park by more than 25%, reduce the number of vehicles put in by more than 20%, and further increase the carbon emission reduction of bicycles by more than 15%. %, and the comprehensive carbon emission reduction improvement rate exceeds 35%.
By upgrading the power-swap logistics vehicles, JD Logistics will further reduce carbon emissions during logistics transportation, and can work with upstream and downstream energy partners to realize an integrated innovative energy-saving and emission-reduction plan of "park + transportation + echelon utilization" to speed up green parks and the process of green transportation.
In addition, the battery swap mode greatly reduces the energy replenishment time of new energy vehicles. According to estimates, in the same running time, it takes 3 hours for a new energy transport vehicle of a 4.2-meter van to be fully charged, and through the battery swap mode, it takes only 5 minutes for a new energy vehicle of the same specification, which effectively solves the problem of new energy. The "anxiety" of the battery life of logistics vehicles will make the use time of each new energy logistics vehicle more environmentally friendly and sustainable. While improving the transportation efficiency of the fleet, the fleet structure can be further optimized through the battery swap mode, which effectively reduces operating costs.
In fact, Jingdong Logistics has already tried the "battery swap mode" before. As the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in the third quarter of 2021 issued the "Notice on Launching the Pilot Work of the Application of New Energy Vehicle Battery Swap Mode", JD Logistics actively responded to the national call and took the lead in launching battery swap city distribution logistics in March this year. car pilot.
